busch gardens josie patty tim

hello boys and girls. I found hi-res photos of an actual Busch Gardens ride that we can use for the print/signs. Here is just a rough mock up for the signs. I am thinking of ditching the white box element, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Also, trying to work with the mood. Also, Tim, if you can come up with a line that works with that environment one, since it is a carousel, I decided a turning point in the roller coaster only seemed appropriate. I know you had previously come up with other lines, but I somehow have lost them. Sigh.

As for the two "thrill" headlines, I think the first picture works the best, as it was actually taken when the rider was upside down on a turn. I wasn't sure if that was too understand..

Anyways! Let me know. Sunday in the lab, Patty? Since neither of us made it today, ha.

  1. Great work. The photography is much stronger and you're getting much closer. I think the images with the roller coaster against the sky are the most successful. While the one that is looking down is fantastic idea-wise, there is so much going on in that image that you lose some of the impact. Can you find one that's looking down that doesn't have all the shrubbery (one that's closer to the feel you get from the ones that are looking up)? Lastly, I'd suggest working on the typography to make it stronger. Your lines are very hard-hitting and bold. Can the type reflect this? You're on the right path with the sans serif. Also, the image above the carousel is nice, but I don't want you to lose the idea of having the image on the actual rotating part of the carousel. Is this an additional idea or taking the place of that one?

I look forward to seeing your next pass at this.

  2. We aren't replacing the carousel graphic on the actual carousel, we were just taking advantage of realty space, since that is available with the graphic. I figured we could put a line there that brings it all together, on top of the carousel graphic on the baggage claim.

  3. These are much better. Now that you have some of your visuals locked, don't think it's done. You need to dress it up a bit. How can you make the experience be more impactful without making the copy so big? The Busch Gardens brand is not showing as of the moment. Where is the adventurous feel. Don't go safari/jungle look, but what are elements you can add to spice it up a bit.

That is your task now. You are 50/50. Goodluck.

  4. Josie, way to go! This is a huge improvement.
    You're a badass.
Yeah, not feeling the text box too much, but good stuff.

  5. Great job you guys! I know that you were about to kill someone last week (hopefuly not me) but you have really brought this idea to life, with real photography!! So on the first one, at the baggage claim, is that just a photo or is it video? I'm just thinking that people get so bored waitting for their bags you could do something really fun there, but you are on the right track, good job!!
