These were a handful of the ideas we were tossing around in the class. (for those in my group)
We also played with some TV commercial ideas, that we may want to revisit. I can storyboard them, but the actual manufacture may be too much of a pain.
1. Symmetry is fine for our parents.
2. Progress isn't always pretty... but sometimes it is.
3. The new dimensions of a mobile device
4. Dial up the fun
5. Born from the need to stay connected, and the desire to look good doing it.
6. As if from a dream, a wet one.
7. Some say it's ugly. We say: whatever, you're old.
8. Finally the marketing people got something right.
9. Upgrade your Saturday night.
10. Silver jump suits sold separately.
I kinda like number 7, because it has the tone and personality that our target can connect with. I was just wondering whether it will offense the older people haha. I'll probably think of another way to tell them they're 'old'.
ReplyDelete1. Symmetry is fine for our parents.
ReplyDeletewould it be Symmetry was fine for our parents? interesting (and risky), it has the ability to offend people, but if the statement is true for all people, it could work..... I see this generation holding a mild disbelief could even be a grudge against parents. Many of us have seen our parents fail, loose a job or undergo extreme financial stress.
The old "Try hard and you will succeed," being just one of the things we were told growing up that we have thrown out the window.
The line and car has an attitude which your line, I believe fits. The tech lover who doesn't care about standing out.. It's a type of bad-ass, so what, or YEa so, mentality.
The initial reactions to the Cube car follow this pattern 1. interest - something new to the eyes 2. reaction - either positive or negative because how they felt during #1.
Your statement- is true, whether the person reacted positively or negatively to the car..
2. Progress isn't always pretty... but sometimes it is.
Alright, again, a believable tone and a true message. Respectable tone works for sophisticated & sophisticated adults.
3. Personally not a big fan of the mobile device thing... It's not compatible with mobile devices!
4. sounds like you are putting in an kinky order for delivered pizza..
5. strong.. we do have the need to stay connected and look good doing it.. Born might not be the right word.
6. does the car have rain shield or sun protection?
7. I support the first half.. the second half could have more to do with the car / oR slam the people who think it's ugly using another term...
Look into some selling points for this car.. A buddy of mine in his 40s, used to drive a lime green 1979 Monte Carlo (that he spray painted the interior black)... he now drives a prius...What sold him on the prius was the gas mileage, the tax write off, and some special sticker that allows you to drive in the Diamond lane.
8. TRUTH: We don't want to know about the marketing people unless they are jumping off a bridge. Most people think they hate advertising. (They don't consider it advertising often when it is good.)
9. What would you show? Why did you pick Saturday night?
Is there a light show, reading "will you marry me?" kidding... but curious.
10. jump suit? who u gonna call? whats the execution on this?

I'd scratch #4, 6 and 8.
ReplyDelete9. There's an idea behind "upgrade". Play around with this.
10. Saw this execution from Mei Kim's post. Why does it have to be silver? What's the connection with the CUBE?
Hey Tim,
ReplyDeleteHave you checked with Erica about the cardboard box idea? Start brainstorming on this cuz it has potential.
