Lori's San Jo Sharks

Lots of loose ideas here. I wanted a lot of these ads to instill a sense of pride and spirit of the current Sharks fans. I love the spirit the Raiders ads carry. I love the competition of professional sports because there is no spirit like team spirit, right? They are not the best team but I wanted a little cockiness to be present. Hey, hockey is a rough sport.

I just need a push in the right direction. FYI, most ideas are all different. Some lines of copy below needs to be refined but I was mainly pushing the overall idea. Please let me know what copy is good and visa versa.

Billboards
1) Hungry shark. The large open mouthed Shark head (that players emerge from when coming on the ice) protrudes upward from rectangular billboard and flying into the mouth are a penguin, a duck face/mask, wings, etc. I want those things with enough resemblance to other hockey team mascots/logos so fans can recognize them -but not exactly the same.
*Lines: This season, the sharks are hungrier than ever. -OR:
This season, hungry sharks write history.
The sharks are more ravenous than ever.
Try to defend a shark attack.

2) The Face Off.
The billboard ad has two large hockey sticks protruding out of the top left and right. The center is where the two hockey sticks almost meet, face off style. In the center, where the puck is supposed to sit, is made to look like the Stanley cup.
*Line reads: Nobody will take what we want. -OR:
Opponents welcome.
Sharks will not accept defeat.
We’ll face off with anyone.
Sharks fear nothing.
We’ll show you shark attack.

Bus Shelter Ads/ Bart Ads
3) The Ultimate Play. An open page out of a drawn play out of a playbook and there are drawn arrows going here, there and everywhere. Sitting on one side of the messy directional arrows, the Stanley cup is roughly sketched. Ultimately, if you follow most of the arrows of where the players should go, all the arrows leads to Stanley cup on one side.
*Lines reads: This season, we go for the kill.
This season, we write Shark history.
Our playbook consists of only one page.
There’s only one play mastered in our head.
Our one page playbook.
This is what the season will look like.

On Caltrain: (Buying a series of 2 consecutive ad spaces in a row inside train)
5) Shark Chase. Shark fin is in one ad. Next ad is Stanley cup on far end.
*Lines: Once sharks lock onto their prey, theyre unstoppable.
Sharks want cup, Sharks fight to get cup.
Sharks know what chase means.
We know what we want this season.
Once Sharks lock their jaws, they don’t let go.

Taxi’s
6) Shark Chase 2. Someone else spoke of taxi’s with a shark fin but mine is a little different. I want the shark fin to sit on the backmost part of the roof. On the normal rectangular taxi cab topper, you see a picture of the Stanley cup.
*Line reads : Opponents welcome.
With shark determination
Sharks determination, sharks domination.
Sharks don’t waver.
Sharks in pursuit.
The chase is always the fun part.

Guerilla coming soon…
Need to know which direction to push further in. Thanx!

  1. Work on 1,3 and 5. Out of the 3, #5 is your strongest. That is every teams goal. Jut make sure you incorporate sharks into your idea.

3 and 5 are somewhat similar. Maybe combine the idea.

#1 is kind of funny. You don't even have to like replicate the other teams. Like for Pittsburgh, you can just show an penguin.

    Good luck.
