So our new direction is within our old concept of reconnecting. In this case, it's not about people who are not submersed in technology, but about people who have lost their common sense. They are living in their alternate reality. It's about thinking inside the cube.
The campaign will start with wild postings. One featuring the back of a fur coat with a paint stain saying "reconnect to reality." It will have the Nissan logo and it will have the website ReconnectToReality.com which is a youtube channel containing viral videos that connect the wild postings to the cube, also to the main Cube website where they can check out the car.
In this site, (YouTube Channel) people will be able to place testimonials, create their own versions of the viral videos and share experiences they've had with their cube.
In the first viral video, the first scene we see a sign "convention: modern man and fur."
Second scene, we see a man entering the convention sporting his big fur coat.
Third Scene, we see the people in the convention, they hear the door close, they turn around and express anger.
Fourth scene, we see the man in front of the door gesturing an awkward hello, we see the crowd again they start screaming as it pans out and we see a banner reading "PETA Convention: modern man and fur"
Fifth scene, Man runs out and mob chases him.
cut to black screen with white lettering reading "sometimes you have to think inside the cube"
cut to whit screen (nissan logo) cube: reconnect to reality.
also with this campaign there will be a radio spot and the virals will be shown on TV, also to be expanded to banner ads, and the new Cube website (not the YouTube Channel)

This is the first i've heard of this idea...but I'm not sure I understand how these scenes reconnect to reality. It seems like you are saying that these horrible things will happen to you if you have a cube. Losing common sense doesn't have to be so intense. If you add some humorous situations to 'losing common sense' then it could be more relatable. The guy being slapped by a girl could be good. Maybe he was staring at another girls butt....it should have been common sense. A father choking a son sounds violent and the fur scene doesn't make any sense to me.

ReplyDeletethe way we presented this post was to put you in the shoes of the target (aka being confused) we designed the wild postings to be outrageous and strange enough to have people wander into the site to see what it is about, then you'd understand the connection between the postings and the product, also the scenarios are strange enough that no one would actually do something like that. hence these characters should be thinking inside the cube.
ReplyDeleteAnd after people see the wild posting they go check out the website which will have related ad's tying in the viewers confusion. Showing that people are acting out of one's common sence. (like their thinking way to out of the box) bringing us to say think inside the cube, implying the cube brings you back to reality.
