Patty and I were playing with the webpage last night and I have been working with it this morning. We aren't sure whether this works or not, if it gives off that "old school" vibe. We wanted to go for a scrapbook look, but that looked too outdated, if we are doing a "modern" family. We just wanted to go for a homey type of feel with the emphasis of family time spent together, family bonding, etc.
Let me know if this is an okay direction, guess you could say I've been kind of stuck..

I was thinking of having copy on the index landing page that welcomes and introduces. Perhaps you can think of. And if you could read the comments on my previous post about the copy not really relating to our concept.. we definitely need strong copy in this one.

ReplyDeleteDid you guys have other concepts? Over groups have more than one and I'm wondering if this is only your first idea.
I still haven't heard back from the instructors if one concept is due on Thursday or at least three.
This look and feel is not working. Your microsite is far too traditional and expected. It kindof looks like a keynote template. You don't have to trap yourself with navigation along the top. Try getting away from centering everything. You've got all this space on the side with nothing there. Please continue exploring. Your idea is interesting, so don't let it lose its potency in the execution.
ReplyDeleteI agree I think that the idea has potential, but the look and feel isnt working. You can take the scrapbook feel like you said that you were trying to achieve and do a million things with it, I dont know if you scrapbook (I dont) but scrapbookers are doing some really cool layouts these days type in scrpbooking in google and look at the images, maybe that will spark an idea for you. Remember we said that you could use as much color as you wanted as long as it doesnt look bad, so have some fun with this
